Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin
Updated: May 17, 2020
According to me, oily skin is the worst thing one can have. Oily skin leads to acne, breakouts, difficulty in applying makeup, gives greasy effect and makes people conscious about their appearance.
Oily skin is due to the overproduction of natural oils called sebum, made up of fats.
Here is a basic routine you can follow to reduce oil and maintain your skin:

Wash your face: Wash your face with an oil-free face-wash twice a day. Don't over wash as it can lead to increase in the production of natural oil of the skin which is not good for an oily skin.
Some recommended oil-free face-wash:

Exfoliate: Oily skin is prone to blackheads and clogged pores. So, it's better to exfoliate your skin with gentle exfoliant at least twice a week. Don't be harsh on your skin.
Some most recommended exfoliators:

Moisturize your skin: People with oily skin are highly recommended to use a light moisturizer. It will keep you skin hydrated and gives a soothing effect. You can stick to a gel type moisturizer.
Some recommended moisturizers:

Use Sunscreen: Don't forget to put your sunscreen on your face before stepping out in sun. It will reduce the chances of further damage to your skin by harmful UV rays. People with oily skin can use matte sunscreen.
Some matte sunscreens:

Oil Free Diet: Try to follow an oil free diet. Follow a diet rich in vegetables, fruits and proteins. Also, eat food rich in citric acid as it beats acne and balance you skin tone.

Remove make-up: Never sleep with make-up on your skin. It mixes with the oil of your skin which can cause pimples and various skin infections. Remove your makeup with oil-free cleansing wipes or make-up remover.
